As the first breakfast post on my blog, I propose: Oatmeal with fresh fruit (such as berries, banana, or chopped apple) and a drizzle of honey
  • Oatmeal: Oatmeal is a nutritious whole grain that contains soluble fibre called beta-glucan. This type of fibre has been shown to help lower LDL cholesterol, also known as "bad" cholesterol, by reducing its absorption in the bloodstream. Consuming oatmeal regularly can contribute to maintaining healthy cholesterol levels.
  • Fresh Fruit: Fresh fruits like berries, banana, and chopped apple provide natural sugars, vitamins, minerals, and dietary fibre. While fruits contain natural sugars, they also contain fibre, which helps slow down the absorption of sugars into the bloodstream. The fibre in fruits can help regulate blood sugar levels, preventing spikes and crashes that can negatively impact energy levels and well-being.
  • Honey: Honey is a natural sweetener often used to enhance the flavour of oatmeal. It primarily consists of fructose and glucose, which are simple sugars. While honey may provide a quick energy boost, it is important to consume it in moderation as excessive intake of added sugars can lead to increased blood sugar levels and potential negative effects on overall health.
Overall, the breakfast combination of oatmeal with fresh fruit and a drizzle of honey provides a balanced meal that includes complex carbohydrates, fibre, vitamins, and minerals. This combination can contribute to a sustained release of energy, regulate blood sugar levels, and support overall well-being in the morning.
